Carlsbad-Based Company Spinal Elements® Celebrates 20th Anniversary and Dedication to Making Wishes Come True for San Diego Kids

Spine Technology Company Celebrates 15-Year-Old San Diego Teen at Princess “Hero” Wish Party and Over 2 Million Raised for Children in San Diego and Nationwide

Carlsbad, CA, December 20, 2023 – Spinal Elements®, Inc., a Carlsbad, California-based spine technology company, recently celebrated their 20th Anniversary with a special Disney-themed “Hero” Wish ceremony and pizza party to celebrate San Diego teen Destiny. The spine technology company has long supported Make-A-Wish® in San Diego and Make-A-Wish chapters across the country, and was touched by Destiny’s story.

Destiny, 15, is a Make-A-Wish® recipient from San Diego who has been battling an autoimmune disorder. She loves the San Diego Padres, pizza, photography, and ALL things DISNEY. She recently returned from her wish to go to Disney World.  In honor of Destiny’s wish, Spinal Elements and its Hero Allograft program pledged $10,000 to support Make-A-Wish San Diego and its efforts to grant local wishes. A $10,000 check was presented to the organization with Destiny and her father Alberto Vieyra at the event.

“We were honored to celebrate our ongoing partnership with Make-A-Wish San Diego and Spinal Elements’ 20-year anniversary by honoring Destiny at our corporate headquarters,” said Gabe Gamboa, Marketing Manager, Spinal Elements. “Destiny’s wish was adopted by Spinal Elements through our Hero Allograft program that partners with surgeons and hospitals across the country to donate to charities benefitting children with serious medical conditions.”

Spinal Elements has made many donations in support of Make-A-Wish® San Diego and to other Make-A-Wish chapters across the country over the years. Nationwide, donations and wishes are made possible thanks to Spinal Elements’ Hero Allograft products and the surgeons and hospitals that have pledged to partner with them. To date, Spinal Elements has donated in excess of $2M through the Hero program to charities such as the Make-A-Wish and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. About Make-A-Wish® San Diego
Make-A-Wish creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Since its inception in 1983, Make-A-Wish San Diego has granted over 5,000 wishes for local children with critical illnesses in San Diego and Imperial Valley Counties. At Make-A-Wish, the goal is simple: provide children and their families with a life-affirming experience amid a very challenging time.  A wish has the power to change a child’s mental state, provide desperately needed respite for a family, and allow the child’s and his/her family to experience a sense of normalcy. No eligible child is ever turned away, and a family’s financial status, race, or religion has no bearing on whether or not a child will receive a wish.
